What is the peptide ?

                     The organic compounds having two or more amino acids linked in a chain to form amide bonds,number of amide bonds in in chain is called peptide.

i.e. C-terminus of an amino acid being joined to the another amino acid of N-terminus to form amide bond, multiple amide bonds are called peptide bonds.

Peptide synthesis:-

The chemical synthesis of peptides can be carried out from two methods.

• .    Solution phase synthesis method.
• .    Solid phase synthesis method.

                 In Generally, solution phase, peptides can be synthesized by the condensation reactions.The reactions are happening two molecules combine to form a larger molecule, producing a small molecule such as H₂O as a by-product is called condensation reaction.  Protecting group strategies are generally essential in both of them to avoid unwanted side reactions.Solution phase synthesis is industrial feasible method for production of peptides in bulk amount.
